Richard W. Hendershot, MD

Dr. Hendershot is an esteemed physician with more than a decade of experience in the field of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology. He graduated from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 2001 and practiced as an internist and a pediatrician before specializing in Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology. He completed a fellowship at National Jewish Health through the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 2007 and is now an accomplished allergist.
Dr. Hendershot joins Granger Medical Clinic from Intermountain Healthcare Salt Lake and Park City clinics. He specializes in evaluating and treating immunodeficiency diseases, eosinophilic esophagitis, asthma, hives, eczema, and food and environmental allergies. His background as both an internist and a pediatrician has broadened his ability to care for patients of all ages. His patient care philosophy is to use the least amount of medication possible to accomplish the best results when treating allergic diseases. He is able to do this by effectively utilizing the tools at his disposal such as allergy shots, allergy drops, and food immunotherapy. Dr. Hendershot is renowned for his attention to detail and the superior, compassionate care he provides to every patient.
Dr. Hendershot served as flight surgeon in the United States Air Force Reserves for twenty years before retiring in 2018. He and his wife, Jayna, have six children and are proud to call Utah home. They love all that Utah has to offer and cannot imagine living anywhere else. They enjoy spending time together outdoors; some of their favorite activities include mountain biking, skiing, rock climbing, and canyoneering.
