Steven K. Stoker, DO

Orthopedics & Sports Medicine

Dr. Stoker is a fellowship-trained Orthopedic surgeon who treats degenerative and disabling conditions of the hip and knee. He joined Granger Medical after completing an adult reconstruction fellowship at the CORE Institute in Phoenix Arizona. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency through Michigan State at McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac Michigan. He completed medical school at Midwestern University in Glendale Arizona. He and his wife are Utah natives and are happy to be back in the Wasatch front!

Dr. Stoker’s aim is to help patients decrease pain, improve quality of life, and regain independence. This can be achieved through non-operative modalities such as medications, injections, and physical therapy as well as surgically through hip and knee replacement procedures. He performs total hip replacements through the anterior or posterior approach depending on the patient’s situation. He is a proponent of kinematic alignment techniques for total knee arthroplasty. He also performs partial knee replacements in appropriate patients. He uses robotics for hip and knee procedures but can also perform them through conventional means.

Dr. Stoker graduated from Brigham Young University with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in information systems. He then worked as a software developer for 3 years building electronic medical record systems at a startup in Sandy Utah. His goal since high school was to become an orthopedic surgeon but felt that experience in technology would allow him to become a better surgeon.

Dr Stoker and his amazing wife have five boys. As could be imagined, their house is never quiet. Their boys are very active in sports and martial arts. The Stoker family enjoys the outdoors. They also have a goal of visiting all 50 states and getting to as many national parks as they can. The two family dogs frequently go on family adventures. The Stoker family spends as much time as they can together and will often be found playing board/card games, playing pick-up family sports games, or doing a nerdy project.
